With the Gloster Meteor, the Royal Netherlands Air Force entered the jet-age. The RNlAF ordered 61 Meteor F.Mk4 aircraft, which were in service from 1948 till 1957.
This Meteor T.7 was a familiar sight at airshows in the mid 80's as part of the 'Vintage Pair' display team, seen here rolling at the 1985 IAT at RAF Fairford. Sadly she crashed less than a year later at the 1986 Mildenhall Air Fete.
On display at the 1993 Edwards AFB Open House, this Gloster Meteor was being restored to Meteor NF.11 configuration and still had some markings to be applied. She was previously registered as N94749.
