ZH588 (DA2), the first UK prototype, made its first flight on 6 April 1994. In 2001 the aircraft deployed to RAF Leuchars and has since carried 43 Squadron's 'Fighting Cock' on the fin. The Typhoon came to the RAF Museum on the 22nd January 2008.
Looks like 'DB' has seen some busy times whilst holding QRA duties; witness the 1 x 'Bear', 1 x 'May' and 2 x 'Blackjack' silhouettes on the nose just above the foreplane.
The very latest Typhoon to be delivered to the RAF, so new it's still clean! Strangely, the nose mounted infra-red sensor turret which has been become standard on RAF Typhoon's in the last few years - either new build or block 5 upgrade is missing.
