IWM’s B-52D entered service with the 28th BW at Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota, in October 1957. She made more than 200 bombing missions during the Vietnam conflict. On 8 October 1983, a 7th BW crew flew the B-52 to Duxford.
On display in the static at the 1989 International Air Tattoo, 'Eternal Guardian' art was worn by this B-52G operated by the 42nd Bomb Wing out of Loring AFB, ME.
Back to Valentines Day 1987 and another 7th Bomb Wing B-52D, serial 56-0596 pcn BC285 which arrived in store May 1982 and was "eliminated" October 1993. Sadly I underexposed the photo so just a bit of grain on this one.
