In the late eighties/early nineties the USAFE swapped their new A-10's for older ones, as the A-10 was to be withdrawn. During the 1991 Gulf war the A-10 proved itself and the USAF decided to keep A-10's in Europe after all.
The big question mark at the 2009 RNLAF open days, what is the real identity of this aircraft? There is a FY81 serial painted but that one belongs to another aircraft…Also not sure if it is already modified to A-10C standard...
