This Spit was delivered to the RNlAF as H-105. It entered service on 19 February 1947 and served until 1953. It crash-landed on Java on 7 May 1949 but was repaired. Later delivered to the Belgian AF as SM-41. (scan from print)
Brian Smith of OFMC about to touch the grass at Rougham. Built as a Spitfire LF.IXc with Merlin 66, the Spit first served with 222 (Natal) Squadron as 'ZD-B'. After the war the aircraft saw service with the RNethAF's 322 Squadron.
