Back to 4th November 1989 and the monthly AMARC 'Photographer's Tour', this photo was taken whilst the tour bus crossed the Davis-Monthan AFB ramp. An OA-10A coded 'NF' (for 'Nail FAC') operated by the 23rd TASS / 602nd Tactical Air Control Wing (TAIRCW).
A very rare sight in 1989, a USAF operated OV-10A being 87-0405 which was formerly a USMC Bronco Bu.No 155405 and which was returned to the USMC sometime after this photo was taken. Believed operated by the 23rd TASS...
Another A-10A 'Hawg', most likely an OA-10A, again the 23rd TASS on the ramp at Davis-Monthan AFB. With special '602 TAIRCW' titles which I understand means Tactical Air Control Wing.
Photo taken from the USAF tour bus at Davis-Monthan AFB as it drove past the active ramp prior to entering the AMARC storage area. This OA-10A with 'NF' code which I believe was operated by the 23rd TASS out of Davis-Monthan AFB. Now in store in AMARC.
