Gave it another try and (at least for the first six airfields in the dropdown menu) only the very first one works.

The Location Auto-Fill will never work as reliably as the registration and construction number Auto-Fill due to how the database is built. It's just there for convenience, not something to be relied upon 100%. Sorry.
