Dear Photographers,
We're getting many, many photos uploaded lately with incorrect or missing data altogether. We need your cooperation in getting the data 100% right, 100% of the time. There are several websites available for looking up aircraft data. In the past, we've looked up all kinds of information to fix what was incorrect or missing, but we're getting to the point where that's getting harder and harder to do. Please keep in mind that the photo screeners are just volunteering their precious time for the love of the hobby, and whatever you can do to make it easier for them, will be much appreciated. In the past few days, some photos have been uploaded with not even the "Air Force" selected. I know things can be missed at time of upload, but you can "Edit" your photos after upload awaiting screening. Please take a look at your photos after they've been uploaded to make sure that everything is entered and entered properly. Also, this will help in getting your photos approved faster. There are several dozen photos in the que right now with missing info. If you have photos in que and they haven't been approved, please check your "Inactive" photos, you just might have some missing data. Thanks for your cooperation everyone. -Ray |

Lee, for Fleet Number, think 'code number'... I dare say that's made it a whole load worse though!
Taking this as an example:
Code is NG Fleet Number is 112 Serial number is 165933 (although you can't see it) Regards, |

Hi Lee,
Yes, as stated in another thread, an "Auto Fill" is in the works. It will be up and running in a few days with a totally new upload interphase. It's just very time consuming to re-do. There are 1873 entries in the "Aircraft" list alone. Code is something that stays the same within many aircraft in a squadron. Ex. "NG" as noted above. The fleet number of course if different for every aircraft in the fleet/squadron. For some countries, ex. Italy, the "Code" can be numbers instead of letters. So just remember, letters or numbers, if you see it on several aircraft of the same type, then it's probably the "Code". -Ray |

I find a lot of American miltary aircraft confusing when it comes to serials, etc. usually only a part of the full serial number is shown on the tail and or nose.

Hi,
I have uploaded a photo of a Hellenic Air Force F-16 (photo:35731) and I noticed that the registration number and cn-number have been mixed-up (registration is "140" and cn is "2Y-31". I don't know how I can correct it, since there is no way to change someting after acceptance? Best regards, |
