It seems that there have been very few introductions in almost a year. I uploaded a few photos in 2008 but never got around to introducing myself, and then I sort of fell out. But a few weeks ago my interest was awakened, and now I have a few shots on the site, both old and new.

I am not one of the younger generation, as can be seen from my profile, but have been interested in aviation as long as I can remember. Strangely for someone living in a country with no military, my interest has always leaned in that way. Of course early on Keflavik was closed to such as me, having no job in connection with operations there but around 1965 I did get to know a few key people, and thus started to be able to go there occasionally.

Later I became a regular visitor there, and one of the main problems was to keep up with the rapidly changing key personnel, that I got to know and knew about my quest to photograph everything I could get close to, and then suddenly they had left.

Still I have enjoyed a number of fabulous opportunities both here and abroad, and it gives me great pleasure to share the better ones of my photos with the enthusiasts here.

Some of you might know of my quest to illustrate every Lockheed Neptune built on my Neptune pages, which can be found on my webpage, and might know of some P2V (P-2) photos that could help me along.

Hi Baldur,

I've seen some great old pictures appear in the queue and I love them!
As a number hit the daily top score, I'm not the only one.
So please keep the stream coming. I'm looking forward to them!

Yes Baldur, like all the others I was enjoying already many hours clicking through your pictures - mostly openmounded ::2thumbs_grin}

It's very impressive to see what was flying in those years - and maybe you can give us others quite good advise how to scan and prepare those old scans so nicely. Also I'm a big fan of your comments about the history of the aircraft in picture or how you photographed - I think everybody should write something about why he/her have this picture uploaded, but thats maybe because I'm 1st a photographer and then a Spotter.
I have still not looked completely through my archives and finding every couple of scans another great shot or aircraft I've not remembered to see. And part of the fun preparing the shot is always finding out about the history of the place/plane/pilot whatever.

And maybe we can meet you personally next year at the big Payerne Air Show in Switzerland, 30/31 august and 6/7 september 2014

Muuuuhhh - welcome in the land of milk and chocolate
