I was watching a show on the Military Channel and it was about the Global War on Terror, and it said that the war started before September 11th. Anyone disagree?

No, I agree. It probably started with the first World Trade Center bombing, it's just that after 9/11 it got a lot more wind under it's wings and became a popular term. Countries have been fighting terrorism for decades.
