I noted in several reports the RAAF has decided to bury their F-111s rather than scrap the aircraft. Moreover the reason for this action was the aircraft have asbestos and was deemed more economical to bury.

Sad indeed to see the old birds go. I hope they keep a few around in museums. Not sure about their reasoning, but either way they are gone.
