I don`t know, if my decision on not going there, is dumb, but now it`s too late..
On the next weekend there is the Dittingen airshow, near Basel, Switzerland. It is every two years. In 2007 I was there as a visitor, while visiting my ex gf, who lives there. In 2009, I volunteered and worked at a cashpoint. This was after I had moved there, as well. Well, in october, last year, I finally went back to northern Germany, after my gf split up with me. For a while I thought, I want to go to the airshow, no matter, if she would be there as well. But she kept pestering me about stupid things, and we kept having arguments, so in the end, I decided to not go there, just to avoid seeing her. Now the airshow will take place the next weekend, and the programm is great. A lot of warbirds (like the OV-10 Bronco), the Superpuma display, the F/A 18 display, both of the swiss air force, the Patrouille suisse demo team, the private owned Breitling jet team and many more. And I really would love to see it. This year, they made up a small camp area, so I could bring my tent. But I haven`t got enough money to go there, and, over all, I gotta work the next weekend... But I feel like it it really dumb, to not go there, just to avoid seeing my ex....

And why do you write this to us ? Do you think your personal situation with your gf is of any interest to us ????
 Anyway - this weekend is also the show on former military airfield St. Stephan near Gstaad - in the middle of some nice mountains as background and some very interesting visitors. I'm going there on Friday, 'cause on Saturday I will make a 24h-Hike in central Switzerland. Some Teasers from older Shows in St. Stephan from me and some other photographers there - have fun

Hi Guys
The problem is, that unfortunately Dittingen and St. Stephan are at the exactly same date! I was in St. Stephan 2008 (50 years Hunter) and 2010 (with special guest from the Netherlands). 2007 and 2009 I was in Dittingen. This year is 2011, so I will go to Dittingen again. It is that easy for me :wink I can understand Jason, that he has a problem with not going to Dittingen. Dittingen is allways a very special airshow on a very small glider airfield (only grassrunway). You have to drive a one-way-street up the hill to the airfield. This years programm sounds very good to me: - Hornet Solo Display - Super Puma Display - Patrouille Suisse - P-3 Flyers - Bell Cobra - Wingwalker - Yak-Formation - Grumman Avenger - Super Constellation and many more Here you see some pictures from St. Stephan…………

Sorry if you got me wrong, I just shared this with you, as the airshow is real great and maybe some of you want to go there.
I didn't ask for any advices regarding my situation with my ex. The situation is clear: no more contact, and for me this is ok. This is why I won't go to Dittingen, as I know she will be there. Unfortunately my decision also means not seeing the show. And this is what I think may be dumb. Anyway it's sad. To all of you who go there: have much fun and bring good pictures

So, how was the show? I`ve seen a few pictures on their site, after all, you had great weather. I wanted to look up their webcams from time to time, but they had to take them offline, as too many people locked on them and their network broke down.
