Since about two years ago I know this boy Thomas. At the time of writing he is 13 years old. What's so special about that? Well, Thomas suffers from Duchenne's dicease, a kind of muscle distrophy that will probably not allow him to live a long life and die a young adult. Tommie is nuts about military aviation, especially jet fighters. Collecting images and playing around with Flight Sim.

Over a year ago I painted his bedroom and turned it into Happy Valley/Goose Bay with a low and fast flying Viper storming in through the door. The aim is that Tommie's mind is somewhere else for a while being in his room. In the two years I (as an aviation artist) emailed him a 'weekly Thomas image' so from me alone he has collected over a 100 different pics.

Since I'm also involved with the promotions of 312 TFS/RNLAF (an F-16 unit at Volkel AFB), I took Tommie there a couple of times, dressing him in a flight suit complete with patches, wing and all. 312 just about adopted him, he even has a callsign: 'Tallyho'.

Over one and a half year back I posted a similar topic on www.f-16.net, asking the members to send Tommie an image every once in a while. On this magnificent site with so many esteemed photographers, I launch the same question. His full name is Thomas Goudswaard, his email address is: coba81@planet.nl . As soon as I have found out how to post pics here I will upload some of Thomas.

Remember: we are blessed to generate such a powerfull effect with so little effort.

Thanx in advance, Peter 'Painter' van Stigt, The Netherlands.

Oops, sorry Pete. I forgot to give you guys, "members" group, the proper permissions for that. Right at the top, next to the "Logout" button you will see a link called "My files" which will take you to your Personal File Space (PFS). I have granted you 100MB of space and each file can be up to 200KB is that enough? Will that work with that file size?

I suspect that 200kb is too small for an image of the average wallpaper size, especially in my case. 1 mb would work. But maybe that's not what you're looking for and thumbnails should suffice in your opinion. You are the architect...

Cheers.

Peter,
We'll display the wallpapers in another section of the site. I don't want people uploading files that are too big and inserting them in Forum posts as it will really slow down the Forums. 200KB for personal images is more than enough. Some of the best optimized photos in the database are only around 300KB in file size.

Here You go Pete. I optimized them and they are all under 200KB, some are even under 100KB. Thumbnails automatically inserted from my PFS. Click to view large version.

Thanx Ray, looking good. You know, I can do all sorts of stuff with Photoshop and all, but the more technical aspects of programming is not really my thing...

Examples like you see here are sent by yours truly to Thomas on a weekly basis. Who follows..?

And, of course, thanx Mustang for your reaction. By the way, the Dutch F-16 pair image, that anniversary tail on J-640 was of my design and spray-painted by 312 TFS itself. It's my third tail design (1 for 323 and 2 for 312) and among the fastest designs I ever produced (Mach 2 and all...)

Peter,

Those are absolutely stunning, I like them all, but my favorite one has to be two vs two.

Cheers

That is my favorite too. Peter has been sending these to me and will soon be posting them under the Aircraft/Aviation Art section. With over 250 paintings it might take a few days. The Two vs. Two is already my wallpaper at work.
