Looks like he had a compressor stall. Was that due to interruption of airflow in the engine or FOD?

Two people only neglect, not the ideal weather and luck led to this, the MiG-21bis lands without nose gear.
 Although this picture is not Pápa AFB, but made in Kecskemét AFB, the same machinery in place that will be their fate. In the autumn of 1995 the grounds of reduction of armaments destroyed 10 MiG-21MF and 2 MiG-21bis.  This MiG-21F-13 aircraft is used for fire-fighting exercise. I've been burned because it is not ....

Quote MiG-29B - 02, Capt. Zoltán "Topi" Szabó's aircraft cause of accident: Poor quality welded in the afterburner space, and the welded seam cracked. After the engine cought fire and exploded. Pilot ejected. Task was: training for the 2005 airshow. MiG-29B - 15, Capt. Zoltán "Peszke" Peszeki's aircraft cause of accident: While he fly above the runway, he's aircraft tail & fuselage touched the runway. Capt. Peszeki later Major ejected safely, the uncontrollable Fulcrum broke across the fence, and slided across the Main Road 44th and finally hit into the runway lenght direction ground lights. Now wreck is on HDF 59th Szentgyorgyi Dezso AFB Kecskemet LHKE, somewhere between the buildings. Lets Fly! :) |

The helicopter crew injured in another helicopter crew died.

The Hungarian Air Force in 1995, lost two Su-22 fighter aircraft.
In two cases during the 3 person crew ejection, suffered various injuries.  1990.04.20. The Hungarian Air Force MiG-23MF fighter aircraft (09 tactical numbered) thunderbolt occurred due to engine failure crashed near Ajka.

11.11.1980., Papa AFB, Hungary. In the 6224 tact. numbered MiG-21bis of the engines failed during take-off. The crew was unable to stop at the end of the runway. ATU tore up the nets, and then collided with the base behind the railway embankment. The result can be seen in the pictures. Wonder, but the pilot is not injured.

The 2008.04.17. Kecskemét AFB crashed on MiG-29 aircraft, (tact. no.:15) two months after the incident, leaving the fate of a secluded location.
