A lot of changes were made to the back-end of the site over the weekend, so please Ctrl+Refresh the home page a couple of times to re-load some of the files your browser may be caching. Some features of the site may seem to be "broken" until you do this. As a result you should also see great speed improvements as you browse through the site. These changes are all the first steps in getting the site ready for the next version of Airfighters.com which we hope to launch in about a month or so.

Airfighters V2.0, which I like to call it, will be packed with a new simplified look, more photos on the home page, new sections, and more features for both photographers and members. I have several changes planned, but at this time I'd like to take this opportunity to ask you guys, the community, as to what you'd like to see included in the new release? Any new sections, or changes to the current features, please let it be known and we can discuss it.

I like the idea of more photos on the home page. More photos is always good. As far as that cockpits and cabins category we discussed a few months ago, still less than 150 photos so I suppose It'll have to wait for another time.

I'd like to have the option to search for pictures sorted by DATE TAKEN.
Personally I'd also like to see the 'top-rated' option in the search function. This will allow you to see which pictures of a certain photographer are best-rated by the community.

I think it's a bad idea, to consolidate Classic and Nostalgic category into one. I think we can mark on the photographer's page their top of the last 24h photo with the date of the ,,Top of the last 24h" rank.

I have another idea. I want to upload on the site bigger own avatar, or photo myself, and I interest other photographer's face. It makes the site more personal.

And make other photo categories too, called War Photos or Military Conflict or Storm of War( photos taken in a war) and Cold War Birds. I think the War Photos is a good idea!

Or we can rename the category Classic Warbirds called Birds of WWI-II(contain every aircrafts of I.-II.World War)

And a new category for-as Space Shuttles

There will be links on the home page for photos added in Last 24 Hours, 48 Hours, Week, etc. A link for an exact number since your last visit, could be implemented, but may not work right at all times, esp. if you're using different computers for example.

Regrettably, I have to announce a 3-4 month delay to the new version of the site. I think it's better to do it right than to rush into something that is second-rate with lots of bugs. The wait will be worth it, I promise. In the meantime, enjoy all the site has to offer, and the great photos added on a daily basis. I will announce updates as progress is made.

Nope, that's on purpose. It's W3C compliant behavior to let the user control how links should be opened. To get a new tab or window, you have to Ctrl+Click or Wheel Click. The "View Med", "View Large" links in the search results will still open a new tab/window.

True, ADB has not been brought up to the latest changes.
