Hi,

Had the image below rejected for not being level:

Now, my eye says the aircraft IS level, but could the fact that I used a 10mm lens be playing tricks? Those that know Fairford will be aware that the taxiways and roads at the eastern end of the airfield do slope in a few directions and may, therefore, give the impression of an unlevel image.

The image definitely isn't level. The aircraft may look level but look how much higher the horizon comes in on the right hand side of the image than it does on the left hand side. I'd give it abit more of a clockwise rotation.

Dean.

Ok,

Here's the image rotated to level the horizon along the grass line from the left to the base of the grandstand in the upper right.

Which is better?

It is not a bad image in any respect, but it does have a slight 'Fish-Eye' effect.

You have captured the entire scope of your subject, there are no obstructions, the photographer is not in the frame, and the weather is great!

The F/A-18 just looks a little 'bent'...

Good picture, i think that after leveling it looks better. They better get her back on time for the Abbotsford and Canadian International Air Shows. Was this the only CF-18 at RIAT? At Canadian air show's this year Billy's wife has been flying in formation with him for a few passes during the performance.
