7/30/2008 - NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. -- A U.S. Air Force F-15D Eagle crashed on the Nevada Test and Training Range approximately 50 miles east of Goldfield, Nev., at approximately 11:30 a.m. today. The F-15D, assigned to the 65th Aggressor Squadron at Nellis Air Force Base was participating in a combat training mission as part of Exercise Red Flag 08-03.

Two people were on board and their condition is unknown at this time.

As soon as additional details become available, they will be provided. A board of officials is being convened to investigate.

Sadly, the pilot has been reported killed while the back-seater is hospitalized but in stabile condition. Rest in peace.
