Late production F.XIVs were cleared in January 1945 to operate in the fighter-bomber role carrying a bomb load of 1,000lbs: one 500lb bomb on the centreline rack and one 250lb bomb under each wing. Additionally a 30 or 90 Imp gallon overload tank could be carried.
