555th TFS. Returning from aborted flight. Upon landing emergency chopper followed plane down runway. Note the open door on top of left engine, full missle load, and 6 mig kills. Preserved at Air Force Academy.

Though US markings, this is a German F-104 used for training. German serial 20+21. This plane is from the 69th TFTS, Luke AFB. 1983 1 of 2 F104 used in movie The Right Stuff. Late 80s to Taiwan as RoCAF 4368. 1990 midair collide with 2 others, none lived.

Originally purchased by the French where it saw action in Algeria. Served with the Republic of Chad, then purchased by a French civilian company. Last known owner is Rick Hegenberger (N959AD) in January of 1995 who gave it the Vietnam camo and markings.
