NZ7001 recently returned to 40 Squadron, RNZAF Base Auckland, after completion of a set of test flights at the Safe Air facility at Woodbourne in mid-February 2013. The C-130 NZ LEP (Life Extension Program) has been troubled by long delays.

Composite P-51K 44-12125 in the guise of a Netherlands East Indies Air Force (NEIAF) P-51D Mustang. The aircraft was with Delft University until 1968 when it transferred to the Air Force Museum.

This RNethAF Dominie V-3 'Gelderland' started life as RAF Dominie I NF869. From November 1945 Dutch Dominies including V-3 were seen frequently over the Frisian islands on communications and medical evacuation duties with 1 TransVa.

Spitfire LF.IXc MJ143 entered service with 485 (New Zealand) Squadron on 25th October, 1943, at RAF Hornchurch. In July 1946 MJ143 came to the Netherlands for the JVS (Fighter School) with serial H-1 and was later with 322 Squadron as 3W-1.

This Mitchell operated with 18 Squadron, NEIAF as 'N5-264' from September 1945. Later the aircraft was re-serialled M-464. The Mitchell was handed over to the Air Force Museum in October 1971. The 18 Squadron emblem is below the cockpit.

Mitchell 44-31258 entered service with 18 Squadron, NEIAF as 'N5-264' in September 1945. Later re-serialled M-464, it eventually ended up with the AURI's no. 1 Squadron, again as M-464. The Mitchell came to the Netherlands in May 1971.

Over the past six years, both airframe and Merlin 45 of Shuttleworth's LF.Vc AR501 have been overhauled completely. Its return to the skies over Old Warden is eagerly awaited.

H-307 is former USAAF P-51K-10NT 44-12125 but has also parts from other P-51's as well as a set of wheels from an AT-16. '412125' saw wartime service with the 82nd FS, 78th FG at Duxford. The H-307 of the NEIAF was a P-51D, ex USAAF 44-12756.

In 1961, 5361 was one of eight F-86F's from Esquadra 51 deployed to Bissalanca Air Base in Bissau to counter independentist forces during the Guinea-Bissau War of Independence. In 1964 the surviving Sabres returned to Portugal.

Out of the 35 T-33's from USAF and Canadian stocks, 1916 (ex USAF 53-5474) was the only RT-33A entering service with the PAF. This single-seat version was based on the common T-33A fuselage with the forward section of the RF-80C.

From 2005 until deactivation in early 2010, the 'Asas de Portugal' performed a two-ship aerobatic routine at air shows throughout the country and abroad as part of Esquadra 103 'Caracóis' based at Beja.

This Orion originally entered service as a P-3B with the RAAF (serial A9-298) in May 1968. Upon arrival in Portugal she was converted to P-3B and saw service with Esquadra 601, with serial 4806, later 14806. The P-3 came to the Museu do Ar in May 2005.

Former RAF and SAAF Spitfire HF.IX in the markings of the post-war Spitfire Fighter Aviation Group, equipped with LF.V's, based at Ota from 1948 and later at Tancos. The Portugese never operated the IX. ML255 is composite with parts from NH534 and RR232.

T-33A 1926 (ex USAF 57-0694) is parked on the platform of the Museu do Ar. Another example, 1923 (ex USAF 57-0540), is preserved in the main hangar. Both saw service with Esquadra 103 Caracóis.

KA114 under restoration with AvSpecs in December 2010. The Mosquito is now finished in the colours of 487 (NZ) Squadron and first flew on 27th September, 2012, piloted by Keith Skilling and Dave Philips with Warren Denholm of AvSpecs as 'observer'.

A3930 is the second R.E.8 built by TVAL in Wellington, New Zealand. The 'Harry Tate' is finished in the colours of IX Squadron, RFC, as flown in the winter of 1917. The aircraft will join the collection of the RAF Museum, Hendon.
