coming from the mountain caverns in early morning, Tiger '67' and '77' are speeding out to the HAS on the eastern end of the runway - for fullfilling an air policy training
Turtmann was an airfield with a strange lay out with a public road between the runway and the taxiway. Note there is no fence between the aircraft and the truck. The runway can be seen in the background. Unfortunately Turtmann was closed in 2003.
Tiger '38' speeds out to the runway to intercept an unidentified intruder - only an exercise, but during repetition courses up to 4 Tigers where stationed outside the mountain caverns in the simple drivethrough HAS called U80.
This red paint lasted just one day. Hours after the disbanding ceremony of Fliegerstaffel 2 the paint was removed again. J-4138 was wfu September 1993 and scrapped.
Road traffic is stopped to enable the Tigers to cross the Kantonalstrasse. Unfortunately this sight is over since Turtmann was closed in 2003. J-3089 now flies with Patrouille Suise.
Turtmann was situated in the heart of the Alps. After take off the aircraft had to make a steep climb out of the Rhone valley. This Hunter carries two large bombs underneath the wings, making the aircraft even less manouvrable.
Tiger '43' is taxying inbetween footballfield and houses to the runway - seconds after passing the public road. This Tiger is sold to the USA now and should serve as part of VFC-111 under the 'old' number 761568 .
