The Bell XV-3 (Bell 200) was a tiltrotor aircraft developed by Bell Helicopter for a joint research program between the United States Air Force and the United States Army, to explore convertiplane technologies. This example is the sole remaining XV-3.

This Skytrain was delivered to the USAAF in 1942 as 42-92277. It served with the RAF since 1944 before it went to Turkish Air Lines in 1946. It went to Portugal in 1969 and served with the Israeli AF as ‘029’ from 1975.
This plane was built in 1940. On July 31st 1992, this plane was involved in a major accident when the prop separated from the engine and hit a wing strut. Subsequently, both left wings collapsed and the plane spiralled down.
