Originally built as a standard F-14A but later modified to F-14D standard. Although preserved at the Patuxent River Naval Air Museum, the aircraft was moved to be part of the airshow static display.
Nicknamed the "Green Hornet" after being used in a series of tests for alternative fuels, a suitably revised version of the US Navy Strike Directive's colours was applied to the aircraft.
