Previously embargoed and stored at AMARC the ex Pakistani F-16's have found new homes around the USA with this example (ex PAF 93739) now in use with the 412TW at Edwards AFB.
The first extraction parachute has just stabilised prior to the load emerging from the hold during the C-17 air drop demonstration at the 2006 Edwards AFB Open House.
Now on display outside the NASA Ames-Dryden Flight Research Facility at Edwards AFB, the Bell X-1E flown by Joseph Walker achieved Mach 2.24 (1480 MPH) on the 8th October 1957. She was retired in late 1958.
