Originally built as a C-54D (serial 42-72525), she became a C-54Q in 1962. After years of flying as a 'bug sprayer' in Arizona, N44914 came to North Weald in September 2002 in a MATS Atlantic Division c/s. In the background is DC-4 '44-42914' (N31356).

Beech Mk.3TM RCAF-1559 entered service in April 1952. After a period of storage at RCAF Saskatoon, the Beech came to the UK in 1970. With several owners through the years, 1559 was eventually returned to airworthy condition at North Weald in 2012.

XR538 in her original 4 FTS colour scheme, ready for another training sortie of the Gnat Display Team from North Weald. Behind is XP504/'XS111', destroyed in a fatal accident near Oulton Park on August 1, 2015, claiming the life of pilot Kevin Whyman.

Artwork on the port side of the fin of XR541 relates to her time with the Painting and Finishing School at St. Athan. XR541 came to St. Athan in the course of 1978 after a mishap on 7 February, 1978. M-serial 8602M was allocated on 17 December 1978.

North Weald Gnat boneyard with XR541/'PF-179', the rear fuselage section of XS100 (right) and XP540 (centre). All three are former 4 FTS aircraft. The red wing set on the left is from XS100, the camouflaged wing is from XR541.

XR541 was stripped of most useful parts after the transfer from Bruntingthorpe to North Weald. The grey/green camouflage was applied at St. Athan. In 4 FTS service, the Gnat was finished in the standard red and white training colours of the day.

This Full Scale Model(FSM) of Hurricane I V7313 represents the aircraft of P/O Tom Neil of 249 Squadron in early September 1940. At that time the machine was still wearing 56 Squadron code 'US-F'. The monument was unveiled by W/C Neil on 19 April 2009.

Detail of the artwork on 'BE505'. Australian F/Sgt Charles Bryce Watson served with 174 Squadron, RAF Manston, when his Hurricane was hit by ground fire during Operation Jubilee on 19 August 1942. BE505 crashed into Dieppe Harbour and Watson became a PoW.
