I just saw Svens picture and realized, that it looks quite the same at Monino, as it was in 1997... 16 years and nothing new. Even the E-166 in the background is still there

The lifting body Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-105 SPIRAL was a Soviet project to create an orbital spaceplane. It was created in response to the American X-20 Dyna-Soar military space project and was carried to the air by a modified Tu-95 bomber. Kodachrome64

Exhibits at Central Air Force Museum are or where looking often like a scrapyard, but today this "Brewer-E" (NATO reporting name) is in a much better shape than during my visit in 1997. Deployed in 1970, it is notable as the 1st Soviet ECM aircraft !
