Matsushima was a very nice place to photograph the Mitsubishi F-2B trainer aircraft. Unfortunately the airfield was devastated by the Tsunami on 03/11/2011 and still suffers from the consequences of the nucelar disaster that happend afterwards.

one of the famous Misawa-based "blue Phantoms" on display at the Iruma Airshow 2005 - a sight long gone... The Squadron does now fly the Mitsubishi F-2.
