Former '08' was the only NVA-LSK MiG-23S, which was used in the '80s in tests of the ATU-G/1 Flugzeugnotfanganlage (seen in the background) at Alteno air base. Artist Dr. Heiko Saxo applied this striking hi-viz camouflage in 2011.
'332' of JG-9, NVA-LSK, was damaged beyond repair on 4th November 1988, when the engine caught fire seconds prior take-off from Peenemünde. After years on display at this base, the aircraft is now here at the Luftfahrttechnisches Museum Rechlin.
after the reunification of Germany many former East German air frames found their way to the Luftwaffenmuseum at Uetersen. This MiG-21F13 is now displayed in bare metal colors at the current Gatow location of the museum.
Last flown with JG-2 at Neubrandenburg AB. Was one of 50 MiG-21SPS and SPS/K which were relocated to JG-7 at Drewitz AB in 1989 for destruction within arms reduction in Europe. 1994 to Museum near Cottbus AB and now restored at former Kamenz AB.
