The Swiss operated newly built Hunter F58 and refurbished Hunter F58A. Most Hunter F58A were scrapped in 1992, while the Hunter F58 soldiered on until late 1994. J-4120 was scrapped at Dubendorf in 1992 as well.

I consider Raron the most beautifull positioned airfield in Switzerland. The backdrop is magnificent. Unfortunately the base was closed after this exercise.

Former RNlAF Hunter N-313 was rebuilt by Hawker Siddeley to F.58A standards. It was scrapped in 1992.

In those days there were no Hornets on Meiringen. All we had were Hunters, Tigers and some lost trainer.

This classic jet fighter was still flying in large numbers. We saw over 60 different air frames during our stay in 1989.

During 1989 we made our first trip into Switzerland. We saw lots of aircraft that were hardly seen in Europe. The Hunters were among these.

Unit badges used to be quite rare in the Swiss AF. This Hunter has the Fl St 2 badge on the nose. This Hunter was scrapped a year later.

The Hunter F58A was a secondhand series of Hunter acquired by the Swiss AF. Most F58A's were scrapped in the early nineties.
