This Canberra PR9 was retired from the RAF when she flew (with two others) into Kemble 31st July 2006. She still wears the light grey ARTF camouflage from her lastoperational deployment when in RAF service.
In the static display at the 2009 Kemble Air Days. Tooks lots of photos of this retired old gal but this one is my favourite, just love the non-asymetric open nose cone and the offset fighter canopy.
Recent research by owner Frank Millar has learnt, that this PR.9 cockpit section is not XH177 as previously assumed. Its identity remains obscure for the time being.
Canberra PR.9 from 39. sq. (1. PRU) in low pass over RWY 23 during Kleine Brogel Spottersday 2005. Home base this unit was RAF station Marham. 28. 7. 2006 were all recce Canberra´s in duty withdrawn from service and 39. sq. disbanded.
