The Hunter was the last British fighter ever to be used by the RNlAF. N-294 is a fake registration, the Dutch Hunter with the highest registration was N-293. This N-294 is ex RAF XF515.
Sporting the colour scheme of the RAF Aerobatic Team 'The Black Arrows' this Hunter was one of the small fleet maintained at Scampton for use in engineering management training. Scanned from Kodachrome 64 slide.
After closure of the RAFG stations their Hunter gateguard was transported to the Luftwaffemuseum at Uetersen. Since than the Hunter has been repainted in 4 Sq markings and went to Gatow.
Former XF515/R is now operated by the DHHF as a second Hunter, which will be used for Flying Displays. The other leeuwarden based Hunter is N-321, the well-known dual aircraft.
