This Globemaster II sits at the McChord airpark and as well as being one of only 9 left in the world, also has the distinction of being the last one to fly, having flown non-stop from Detroit, MI to McChord on October 9, 1986
Final production version of the C-124 was the C-124C and was equipped with its characteristic nose radome, as seen here at the Pima Air and Space Museum.
"Old Shaky"! This C-124C Globemaster has been an exhibit at the Pima Air & Space Museum for many years. When photographed in early 1987 she was missing her rudder (believed blown off during a desert storm) and her nose radome had yet to be repainted.
