On 28 Aug 1961 "Sageburner" broke the low altitude speed record going 902.7 mph at just 125 feet above White Sands crewed by Lt. Hardisty (pilot) and Lt. De Esch (RIO). The aircraft was stored at Andrew AFB where the Marines of VMFA-321 looked after it.
