The Red Arrows, officially known as the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team (RAFAT), was formed in late 1964 and since 21. 12. 2000 is based at RAF station Scampton. XX179 was lost in a fatal crash at Bournemouth, 20. 8. 2011 (pilot Flt/ Lt Jon Egging).
