A couple of "Warthogs" await their turn in the 1991 Mildenhall Air Fete air display. The bright purple fin bands denote the 510th TFS / 81st TFW. Sadly the 81st returned to the United States a couple of years later and their Bentwaters base was closed.
This A-10A was caught from the "photobus" at the 1985 International Air Tattoo. Her red fin band indicates that she belonged to the 78th TFS based at Woodbridge as part of the 81st TFW.
Taken at the 1990 Leuchars airshow on 22nd September and is believed to be A-10A 79-0221 marked as 'Freddy's Jet', of the 510TFS/81TFW then based at Bentwaters. She is now in store at AMARC.
