This pictures was taken during a testrun for the engine. It was not a normal testrun, it was a kind of "turning back the time" for some photographers. The last time, when this AMIR flew was in 2003. Now they make from time to time some testings.

Soundbarrier 2012-03-26

Very interesting to see. I believed all were sold or scrapped. Nice to see the pilot is all dressed up and its even armed with missiles. IMPRESSIVE !!!

As far as I know it is the only Mirage in switzerland that is sometimes starting the engine and taxiing around. The pilot has to be dresses up, otherwise they re not allowed to do this.
The sound, the smell and the silhouette of the mirage are allways very special.
I hope, that this will go on for a very long time....
