I think that UK airforce never had an F-111 in his units!

That is correct, she was *based* in the UK at RAF Lakenheath with the 48th TFW and she returned to the USA a couple of months after I took the photo when the Wing re-equipped with the F-15E Eagle. Don't forget, when the TSR.2 project was cancelled the plam was for the Royal Air Force to operate the F-111K.
