Probably the worst weather I have ever shot in on a visit to the loop, wind and rain howling through the Valley causing the wingtip streamers from "Trek 31" A 492nd FS 'Madhatters' Mudhen to create some unusual patterns in its wake

I worked on all models of F-15 at Edwards AFB as a civil service avionics flightline tech. We called them "Mudhens" and also, "Beagles" (Bomber Eagles)...
My now-deceased uncle was a groundpounder in the 52nd Fighter Group, 2nd Fighter Squadron in North Africa and Italy during WW II. Their nickname, a gentle swipe at the Americans flying in the British Eagle Squadron, was "The Beagle Squadron".
