    In the 1920s, former 84 Squadron (RFC) S.E.5a F937, was part of the Savage Skywriting Co Ltd., at Hendon. Modifications included the extended exhaust pipes. The smoke-generating oil was stored in front of the cockpit in place of the machine gun.
