43-13048 was in use with the 353rd Fighter Group as a station hack at their Raydon base in Essex. The aircraft sported the yellow and black checkered cowlings, identical to the P-47s (and later the P-51s) of the unit. This AT-6D is ex USAAF 44-81506.
