MAKHACHKALA, January 15 (Itar-Tass) - Four people died and two were injured in a collision of planes of Russian interior ministry troops at Makhachkala airport on Thursday. The updated information was given by the Russian Emergencies Ministry’s department in Dagestan on Friday.

The accident occurred on the Makhachkala airport runway at 20:40 Moscow time. A landing Il-76 touched with its wing another Ilyushin plane ready to take off. The cabin of the other plane burst into flame. The landing aircraft also caught fire. Four crewmembers of the plane that was to take off died and two were injured as a result of the collision and fire.

One of the injured people is in a hospital in the city of Kaspiisk. The other is in the Dagestan Interior Ministry’s hospital in Makhachkala.

The airport is closed at present until a special decision of investigation authorities. Specialists from the military prosecutor's office and other investigation services are continuing working at the site. The entire airport area is cordoned off by police.
