I would like to have a good book about everything related to the F-14 Tomcat. History, Technics,Pictures and so on..
Sure there are some really good sites on the web, but I would like to have something printed..
So which good books do you know?

Hi Tomcatfreak,

Have a look here:
Tomcat books

"Anytime Baby" & "Bye, Bye, Baby" aren't cheap, but they are very good books with lots of high quality pictures.

Hope this helps,
C.

Thx! I just ordered "Anytime Baby". Seems to be a real great book, containing awesome pictures of the best fighter ever flown!

Hi there!

A good book about the F-14 is the 'How to Fly and Fight in the F-14 Tomcat' from Jane's series. Although some minor errors are aparent the text is good and gives you a good idea of what to expect in a flight with the cat. Some mission profiles are described and there is also some comparison effort with the F-16 and F-18.

I found it very hard to find it and finally bought it from amazon.

Fly to live, live to fly, do it or die, aces high!

If I had to choose one book about the Tomcat, that would be the one I'd go for. Others good ones are:

F-14 Tomcat by Tony Holmes
Tomcat Alley by David F Brown
Tomcat! The Grumman F-14 Story by Paul T Gillcrist
Tomcats Forever by David F Brown & Robert F Dorr
Fighter Country, The F-14 Tomcats of NAS Oceana by Dave Parsons and Derek Nelson

You also tend to find great shots of F-14s in books not specifically about the Tomcat, such as:

The Cutting Edge by CJ Heatley III
Combat Carriers by Tony Holmes
World Super Carriers by Tony Holmes and John-Pierre Montbazet
Seventh Fleet Super Carriers by Tony Holmes
Super Carriers by John-Pierre Montbazet
Supercarriers by Tony Holmes
Airwing Enterprise by Michael O'Leary and Eric Schulzinger
Superbase 2 - Miramar by George Hall
US Naval Airpower by Neil Leifer
Blue Water Ops by Erik Hildebrandt
Where Sea Meets the Sky by Giampaolo Agostinelli

To name but a few. Many are out of print, so you might have to try Abebooks or eBay to get a copy.
