G'day Guys,

I've just taken up Ray's kind invite and registered here.

I recognize a couple of names here so I hope you don't mind a few "repeats". :wink

Ooops, just noticed the request for a few details in another post.

Darren Mottram but most people know me as Motty, 40years old and live near Newcastle, Australia, with my fiancee`, right next door to Williamtown RAAF base, home of most of our Hornets.
I was invited to come along and join by Ray after he spotted some of my pics on another web site. Many thanks Ray. ::thumb_grin}
Background. 14 Years in the RAAF and the past 7 with BAE Systems as an avionics technician on various aircraft.
I've been interested in military aircraft since I was a kid and have been trying to take photos of them since I was about 15 or so. Initially my main focus was making models of them but I have been getting more and more into photographing them over the past few years.
I currently use a Canon 400D with a Canon 17-85 IS lens and a Canon 400D with a Sigma 50-500. I'm mainly into military types (so I'm going to enjoy this site ) but I'll take other stuff if I have to. (anyone into Tiger Moths? :wink )

Cheers,
Motty.

Welcome Darren. Glad to see you made it over all the way from Stralia. I hope you're not too jet-lagged. :wink Your photos will be a great addition to the site to add some good variety.

I've been down under a couple of times and loved it every time. I took a bus ride from Canberra to Melbourne to see what it's like and we went through some great places. The names were fantastic, like Wagga-Wagga. I was staying with my cousin in Werebie (sp), near Melbourne.

-Ray

This is the oldest I've ever been.

Welcome Darren,

Not a bad start at all fella, you can keep those Aussie swinger shots coming mate, you can never have too many Swingers, one of my all time favorite military jets with many a happy memory watching the USAFE ones here in the UK at Lakenheath and Upper Heyford, I just wish I had been more into photography back then.

Regards

John

Hi Motty. I'm sure there's a few of us who recognize your name as well.

Cheers,
Scott.
