Looks like Northrop Grumman and Airbus are in the race to win the lucrative $40B tanker program to replace the aging KC-135 tankers. The tankers based on the popular Airbus A330-200 aircraft will formally be called the KC-30. The U.S. Air Force has a proposal out for 179 tankers and right now is the top acquisition priority.
