Sorry for all the people heading up to Axalp Airshow 2013 Edition - due the weather both Airshow days had to be cancelled this morning. Also the training day yesterday afternoon was affected by the weather (fog in the target/public viewing area) and tomorrow the weather forecast says something about snow and heavy clouds.

Alternate Program for the many visitors already here:

- Brienz Zoo: There you can feed ibex, chamois and other animals by hand - especially for children a to go
- Meiringen Air Base: Hornets in regular flight activity
- Sion Air Base: Tiger F-5 in regular flight activity
- Payerne Air Base: Hornets in regular flight activity (the three swedish Gripen will not fly today and tomorrow !)

Aviation Museums: Payerne (www.clindailes.ch), Dübendorf (www.airforcecenter.ch), Altenrhein (www.fliegermuseum.ch) and Lucerne (www.verkehrshaus.ch)

Have fun

Really bad luck for all those (like myself) who wanted to go to the shooting range at wednesday and/or thursday and watch the Axalp air force live fire event 2013.
Yes it is NOT an airshow, as we all know. The official name for the event is: Axalp air force live fire event 2013.

The swiss air force is demonstrating their firepower to some invited guests from other countries an some politicians from switzerland as well. They also show the performance of the different aircrafts like Hornet, Tiger and PC-21. But it is still not an airshow, even the patrouille suisse is flying up there.
It is a demonstration of firepower and performance.... Not less and not more.

We as normal people are just tolerated and the swiss air force (governement) can make it a non public event again, as it was many years ago....

I wish back the good old times, when a picture was a picture and not only bits and bytes and when the people knew the meaning of the word respect. Respect is a very rare thing in our days…
