Just learned this yesterday afternoon, two of our friends at NAS Lemoore were killed when a VFA-122 "Flying Eagles" Boeing F/A-18F Super Hornet crashed just outside the installation. One of the crew members was formerly from VFA-94, the Mighty Shrikes...the squadron which hosted my visit in September 2010.

Lost were pilot, LT Matt "11" Lowe, and WSO, LT. Nathan Williams. RIP gentlemen...may you fly with the angels.

Always sad to hear of another loss. May they rest in peace.

Any info as to the cause of the Bu No?

Ray, Shannon...no word as to which plane it was as of yet. If/when I hear something I'll be sure to update y'all if it already hasn't come through.

Is it true that both pilots were a part of the West Coast Demo Team?

No word as of yet, at least not that I've heard...it is rumored to be possible, but no confirmation so far as I know as of yet.
