On the 25th of June, a Yak-52 with 2 pilot caught fire in flight at 12.08 pm. The pilots are started emergency diving, and they landed on the runway. In a minute they escaped from the burning aircraft. Pilot on in the 1st seat suffered heavy 2nd class burnt injuries. Air Force sent him to hospital. The aircraft (produced in 1994) is unreparaible, and took off at 11:10 am for a training flight.

If I find picture from the plane, I will upload it.

Lets Fly! :)

Best Regards,

Péter

Wow, glad to hear the pilots made it out ok, albeit injured. The HUNAF has been having quite a few incidents lately.

Yes, indeed, the flying safety is in trouble now, because in the past few years, the government cut the defense budget.

The engine and the 1st cockpit section burned out. The aircraft number 12 suffered in this accident, from the Tiger Kids Training Sqn. This aircraft will never fly again. Pilots: Lt. Col. Zoltán Litauszky, Maj. László Horváth (injured)

Here is a few photo from her active years.
