Yes - a very sad event. But WHAT A SHOW !!!!!
With the Withdrawal of the famous Hunterfleet, the biggest military jetfleet in Western Europe was history. With 160 Hunters, 98 F-5 Tiger II, 55 Mirage III (C/DS/S and RS), 250 Venom and up to 221 Vampire - the Swiss Air Force had the biggest fleet of Jet Aircrafts in Europe in the 1970/80's. Venom and Vampire where already out of Service and in 1994 it was time for the famous Hunter. The Show consisted of a wide variety of Western and Eastern Aircrafts - from American Eagle to Czech Su-22 and from Alouette II up to the mighty Hercules.
A very nice Video to this Show you can find on Youtube ! (not by me) 5 Parts ! Muuuuhhh - welcome in the land of milk and chocolate |

Yes the golden times, when we had a real Air Force in Switzerland are gone….
Air94 was a very good airshow, but unfortunately I didn’t made photos, like I do today. In these days I was just watching, enjoing and sometimes making some VHS-movies…. The Hawker Hunter, the most beautiful jetfighter ever……..
The big formation for the farewell of the good old Hawker Hunter.......
The Patrouille Suisse was unforgetable with the red and white painting…..
What would I give to go back in those days…………… Greets Martin I wish back the good old times, when a picture was a picture and not only bits and bytes and when the people knew the meaning of the word respect. Respect is a very rare thing in our days… |
