Hello!
My name is Lieuwe de Vries and as a hobby I draw aircraft profiles that I sometimes also sell. I'd like to show some of them to you. First off some early german F-104G's in natural metal finishes.

They look great indeed, the detail is astounding! I never knew the Dutch had a shark mouth on one. Any plans for Belgian ones? Possibly from KB or Tiger scheme?

Something I have been studying and working on the last few weeks;
In the final years of RNLAF F-104 operations only two units still operated the F-104, 312 Squadron and the "Uitfaserings Onderdeel" or "Phase Out Unit" whose acronym in dutch was UFO. The badge was orange and either round or triangular in shape with the letters UFO in black. It became a normal practice for each crewchief to paint a "zap" on the machine he was responsible for. D-8061 312 Sqn "Happy Hooker"  D-8063 UFO "Mirror Image"  I intend to do more as I find better pictures of the markings and the entire machines

 Another late machine with a crewchief zap.  Another joke that never seemed to get old was zapping other unit's or even countries machines. This F-104G was zapped when it overnighted at 5 Sqn's, a EE Lighting, base. |
