Heyyy. Just saw the ad on Anet, and figured I'd join up and share some of my shots. My sources for military shots are mainly airshows and limited approach views to Randolph AFB.

So far, this site looks very well done... congrats to the Admins for getting it started!

-Mike

Nothing wrong with Randolph AFB...did a TDY there once for an airshow back in 1999 or 2000. Might have to come on down your way sometime and make you share some of your spots.:wink

Hi my name is Alex and i have been visiting airliners.net for quite a while now, and have known that they had this site but had not managed to register until now. I love all kinds of aircraft old and new civilian and military. I don't have decent cameras and cannot travel too far to get some great photos like some folk here on this site or on airliners, but i do try. I live in Florida in Miami, but go to school in Tallahassee at Florida State University, i try to go to as many air shows i can i have been every year since i was a little kid to the Ft. Lauderdale Air and Sea show, and have driven to Panama City to Tyndall AFB a few times to go to their spring show which is great. I have quite a few pics from this years Tyndall show which i will try to upload soon. Glad to be here and thanks for having this site. Also i will be trying to enlist in the Air Force Reserves within the next year or year and half or so.

Welcome to the site Alex. A good camera is almost a must for great photos. I know, as I don't have a good camera either. Those point and shoot digital cameras just don't do it. You need a good SLR for the photos to come out the way you want them. I will get one soon hopefully. Enjoy the site and good luck with your studies. We'll be waiting for your pics. :wink

Hi guys (and dolls...) My name is Peter, 42, married to a Spanish beauty and raising a similar beauty of 16. I just switched jobs. Used to work for the Dutch National Aviation Theme Park Aviodrome as an advertising and aviation artist/tour guide/author of articles and together with to colleagues responsible for initially setting up the Aviodrome Documentation Center. Now I directed those activities back to the hobby department (where they came from) and became a bus driver in Amsterdam for sheer fun. Best of both worlds, now I get to do only the aviation art that I myself would like to do, as I did in my spare time before but able to expand that now.

I was stumbling across your banner at A.net, took a look and was hooked. I am however not a pure photographer but hope to contribute in the forums and hopefully share my aviation art with you.

Howdy,

I found this site from airliners.net just ealier today. I love the concept of this site, airliners.net, and myaviation.net.

I'm located in Ohio and go to airshows and museums whenever I can (WPAFB is only an hour away). My hobbies involve photography, airshows, and building scale models of planes, boats, vehicles, etc.

In terms of hardware I have a Canon Digital XT, a few lenses (28-105mm and 70-200mm L series), an assortment of filters, flashes, batteries, CF cards and the like. I generally do my postprocessing on a big unix machine with the GIMP.

My job is to shrink heads, not to swell them. --O'Mara (psychologist)

Hi!
My name is Jason, I live in Germany. I`m a fan of the F-14 Tomcat, since I`ve seen Top Gun the first time.
I`m interested in aviation generally, but most I like Jets and Warbirds.
I spent a lot of time visiting some museums, or Airports, taking some pictures of the planes.
In 2001 I was on vacation in Florida, where I visited the Warbird Museum at Titusville, near KSC. I stood beneath the F-14A, which is on display at the museum. Just touching it, was a feeling like coming home after a long time, can`t explain.

My equipment is a Canon EOS 350D, with the following lenses:
EF-S 18-55
EF 55-200 USM

I`m thinking about buying a 100-400 L IS as well.

Most time I spot at the Frankfurt Airport EDDF, because there`s no Airbase near my hometown. No more, the Rhein-Main Airbase was closed in 2005.

I also took pictures at Marseille Airport, France, when I was on vacation.

I hope you like my pictures!

F-14 Tomcat 4-ever!:)

hello to all,
I find this site accidentally, searchin for military aircraft images.
I live in Italy, near AvianoAFB (USAFE airbase) and Rivolto, home of italian acrobatic team “Frecce Tricolori”. I’m not a professional photographer and release photographies only in the free time. I’ve got a Nikon D200 with Tamron 18-200 and Sigma 80-400 lens. I’m forty years old and, as soon as I can,
I watch airplane from forty years! I hope to send you beautiful photos in the future!

Dear Ray,

Found Airfighters.com through a page top advert in Airliners.net and was delighted to discover a photo portal with improved features, lesser intrincate photo approval rules and a faster screening team than its reputed commercial aviation counterpart. Will be glad to contribute with Southern Cone stuff (mainly from Argentina and Chile); but I would like to learn a little more about your project: Is there a forum post describing the portal and its commercial background?

Last but not least, may I propose a feature for future development at Airfighters.com? I believe users will appreciate having a photo notification tool similar to the one provided by JetPhotos.com, which allows registered users to configure rules to trigger an e-mail notification whenever a photo complying to those rules is published in your portal.

Other than that, your site is great and I'm glad to be partly responsible by the recent increase in Argentine publications.

Yours,

Welcome to the site Carlos. I'm glad you like it and thanks for the compliments. The site is still pretty much under development. I have actually considered a notification feature, but it's on the "B" list and will be done after the more important and crucial items on the "A" list. :wink

Thanks again and welcome aboard.

Hi there,

My name is Walter,

I found this site via a link on AIRLINERS.NET, and after seeing some shots on here, I could not resist to register as well

I am in love with aviation (in general, but more particularly with military aviation and space) since I was about 3 (I might have been younger, but I can't really remember exactly... it is all hearsay ...)

I came in contact with photography via my father (who also loved aviation and aerospace). My dream - when I was younger - was to become a "Starfighter"-pilot, but unfortunately (due to medical reasons) I did not make it beyond the tiny Marchetti's of the Belgian Air Force ...BUT the love for photography never died (there was a dip in activities before I made the move to digital). My free time for shooting (and editing) is, however, limitted, due to professional activities spread over Belgium and The Netherlands. I do hope, however, that I can find the time to upload on a regular basis (I also still have a huge collection of slides that are waiting to be scanned...) and as such contribute to the site!

Good luck with the site!!

Best regards,

Walter

Hi,

I've been uploading a steady trickle of photographs right since the site started earlier in the year but as I tend to do on forums have lurked in the background for a while before introducing myself. Figured I'd come forward now and say hello. I've been photographing military aviation for 20+ years, mostly in East Anglia in the UK and live reasonably close to many active airfields including just a couple of miles from the Army Air Corps Apache base at Wattisham, Suffolk - which tends to feature heavily in my photographs.

I run my own photography site, and am a regular photographer and article writer for Air-Scene UK, a UK based webzine. Having converted over to Canon DSLR's two years ago I find my passion for aviation photography is now greater than it's ever been and am keen to help out any way I can.

Regards,

Gary Stedman

I am Mick Balter, age 37 live in Erftstadt/Germany, and I work as professional firefighter and paramedic. Have been interested in aircraft since I was 7 years old! Well, like many others here, I too found out about Airfighters.com from UKAR. I figured I'd join and share with the fellow members here my pictures too, as I do on A.net, UKAR, Flugzeugbilder.de etc.

Living in Erftstadt near Cologne in Germany , German Air Force base Nörvenich ( Home of the Fighter Bomber Wing 31 - Tornado IDS are based here is my closest military airfield, but my real passion is to fly a-air sorties from time to time... if I get one approved;-)

Cheers

Would like to introduce myself as well, although I am already uploading pictures here since a few months. My name is Maarten Peters and I photographe military aircraft since 1997. My place used to be Naval Air Station Valkenburg in the Netherlands, but this is closed since a few years. Because all the airbases are not in my region I travell a lot to make stunning pictures, most of the times to Ramstein (Germany), Florennes (Belgium) and the airshows troughout Europe.

Since a few years I am a member of the Scramble Magazine team and my section is the military movements, so if you have some nice ones send them Hope that this site will expand in the future just like www.airliner.net, good luck!!!!

Kind regards Maarten Peters

Hello Photo and Aircraftfans,

how you can see on the left side my name is Jens, 24 years from Germany.
I live 5min. away from the Hanover Airport (EDDV/HAJ). We have some Military traffic from the
RAF. Like VC-10, C-130 or TriStar. Also the An-124 or 747 for transport of the RAF.
Also we are the "Gate to the east" in Germany. That means you can spot Tu-154M, Tu-200 or Yak-42 sometimes here in HAJ. But it´s getting harder and harder to catch them. This old birds are to "
Quietly" and to old for an modern West Germany Airport.

Since 2004 I taking Photos of Aircrafts. I began with an HP Photosmart 318. That means 3,2 Mega Pixel and 2 times digi zoom.
Now I use a lot of Canon stuff: EOS30D, EOS 1D Mark III, EOS20D and diffrent Lenses.
At the moment I use Photoshop CS for all my Pics.

Most of the time I taking Pictures of Military Aircrafts.
In this year i travelled to United Arab Emirates, Russia, France, Belgium, Netherlands and the USA.

You can find some Pics from that Tours here on the Site or on my website.

How i find Airfighters.com?
Seen the Links in the Scramble and Flugzeugforum.de.

Greetings
Jens H.
